ALL ABOUT TITAN BOOKS by PAUL EDMUND NORMAN

The Titan Publishing Group is one of the English-speaking world's largest publishers of licensed Film and Television publications and Graphic Novels, with two main divisions, Books and Magazines. Established in 1981, Titan is based in London's Bankside area, close to the National Film Theatre, Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

Titan Magazines is the home of SF Magazine publishing. Titan publishes a range of titles including Dreamwatch, Alias, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Simpsons, Star Trek Magazine, Star Wars Magazine and more.

Titan Books is the leading publisher of graphic novels in the UK, with series such as Batman, Superman, The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Star Wars, as well as more quirky and offbeat titles. They publish selected graphic novels series, such as Wallace & Gromit and Transformers, in both the US and the UK. They also have a range of high-quality film and TV tie-in books, plus highly-acclaimed art and comics reference titles, including spectacular reprints of the Dan Dare picture story strips from the Eagle comic (you can read about the Eagle in this issue), Modesty Blaise and Chris Achilleos' new book, AMAZONA. There are reviews of the two Dan Dare books and Amazona in this issue of Gateway Monthly, and, of course, Chris Achilleos is this month's featured artist. The quality of the books produced by Titan is nothing short of amazing, the colour reproduction is faultless. These are titles anyone collecting this genre will want to have. Also from Titan come Superman and Batman, the two "original" superheroes (though I maintain that Tarzan of the Apes is, in reality, the original), in lavishly-produced comic books. Although these are in all probability reprints of the original DC comics they are nevertheless highly collectable and at extremely affordable prices. The latest Batman title, "Hush", comes with a free CD-ROM containing over 900 pages from DC Comics best-selling books along with artist and writer video interviews.

Titan Magazines is the largest and most experienced publisher of licensed entertainment magazines in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand, whose titles include Alias, Dreamwatch, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Simpsons Comics, Star Trek Magazine and many more.

SANDMAN: ENDLESS NIGHTS. Four words for you: Sandman, Ednless Nights, Paperback. The only possible excuse you can have for not already owning Neil Gaiman's latest award-winning, chart-topping Sandman collection is that you were waiting for the paperback. And here it is..... Neil Gaiman's enormously successful Sandman series set new standards of excellence and imaginative boundaries for the comics genre, and in doing so won millions of fans and remarkable critical acclaim. It also introduced the Endless -- Dream, Destiny, Death, Desire, Delirium, Despair and Destruction -- a family of beings representing various aspects of the human experience and psyche. Now, Gaiman returns to the ethereal world he created, presenting new tales of the Endless, illustrated by some of the world's finest artists, including P.
