Best known for his rendition of the young, Elvis Presley Stamp, Mark Stutzman’s illustrations continue to adorn billboards, to-go cups, poster, magazines and more. His work is most often seen in advertising such as the “Annie Get Your Gun” and David Blaine’s promotional posters or movie products and premiums for Batman, Jurassic Park and Space Jam. His most recent work for two Steven King covers reached the number one best seller list. With clients like the U.S.P.S., McDonald’s, D.C. Comics, MAD magazine, Entertainment Weekly ,The New York Times and many others, Stutzman has had the opportunity to share his take on the world through his illustrative works. His focus is most often on the pop-culture of our society, sometimes serious or scary and sometimes humorous. Variety is prevalent in his body of work with a common thread being his idealized realistic style.

Laura is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, with a degree in Visual Communications. Her careerbegan with The Pittsburgh Press in their promotion department followed by a move to Washington, D.C. working in advertising as an illustrator and designer. In 1982, Laura co-founded Eloqui, and has been self-employed ever since. The last fifteen years have been spent in Garrett County, Maryland, where she and Mark share a studio. Her client list includes PBS, MCI, CBS, Simon & Schuster, National Geographic, Time/Life Books and the US Mint to mention a few. Most recently she has entered the childrens' book market with "B is for Blue Crab", an alphabet book of Maryland. This venture has opened the door to yet another book she is currently working on entitled "The Happy Prince", slated for a 2006 publication date. She is best known for her confident, painterly style that shows uniquely in today’s market. With a blend of traditional approach with contemporary imagery, Laura’s paintings have adorned numerous magazines, posters, books and annual reports. Laura’s work also shows favor in the portrait world where she regularly takes on private commissions when time permits.

Gateway is published by Paul Edmund Norman on the first day of each month. Hosting is by Flying Porcupine at www.flyingporcupine.com - and web design by Gateway. Submitting to Gateway: Basically, all you need do is e-mail it along and I'll consider it - it can be any length, if it's very long I'll serialise it, if it's medium-length I'll put it in as a novella, if it's a short story or a feature article it will go in as it comes. Payment is zero, I'm afraid, as I don't make any money from Gateway, I do it all for fun! Should you be kind enough to want to send me books to review, please contact me by e-mail and I will gladly forward you my home address. Meanwhile, here's how to contact me: paulenorman@yahoo.co.uk
