Well, well, well! Look what's coming soon! The real deal for girls... accept no substitute...

The Publishers of The Dangerous Book for Boys will be bringing you

The tale of

THE DARING BOOK FOR GIRLS

on 18 February 2008 £20

Jack and Jill went up the hill and although Jack was responsible for carrying the pail of water, Jill would have been completely happy doing it.

In fact she didn’t event want to go up the same hill over and over again, she wanted to explore just like Dame Freya Stark who travelled through the ‘Valley of the Assassins’ in Syria before discovering the hidden routes of the long lost ancient incense trade. Alternatively, now that Jill was a dab hand at paddling a canoe there seemed no reason to stay landlocked at all! She was also a big fan of splashing about and playing Marco Polo when the sun was out.

At the risk of sounding snobbish, this lugging about of buckets of water wasn’t really her cup of tea either, a few tips on the stock market and some wise advice on how to negotiate a salary now meant that Jill could use her time more wisely and profitably. Having identified a nostalgic trend, she was thinking that there may be a gap in the market for such entertainment as making a willow whistle, tree swing, or a peg board game. She would keep quiet about the handclap games, maths tricks and sleepover games that made her the life and soul of any party though. The homemade kite would sure to be a big seller.

However, having read about amazing women who changed the world such as the pioneering  Indira Ghandi and the brave queen Boudica, perhaps she should be looking at how she can be a better person. Jill’s tool box was already vital when helping those stranded and in need of a change of tyre and a standby bottle of vinegar had helped with a number of skin ailments. Perhaps she could go to Africa and see the Royal Palace at Foumban in Cameroon or the black beaches of Equatorial Guinea. So much to do, so little time. Time to get the skates on..

Hey!’ said  Jack, Where are you going? I thought we could make a catapult and play war games!

Sorry! sang out Jill, I’ve got bigger mountains to climb!

The only book for all self-respecting girls from the team behind THE DANGEROUS BOOK FOR BOYS 'The Daring Book for Girls' is the manual for everything that girls need to know -- and that doesn't mean sewing buttonholes! There have been pale imitations of our 'Dangerous Book for Boys' trying to create the same for girls. But nothing has achieved that same feeling of freedom and adventure that the 'Dangerous Book' had in abundance. But now 'The Daring Book for Girls' will fill that gap. It is a real daring book written by real girls, for real girls. And what real girls want, just look at their comments on-line, is adventure, excitement, and just as much danger as the boys. So here we present to you Famous Women Spies and Pirates, Women Who Changed the World, How to Make and Fly a Kite, Seven Daring Wonders of the World, How to Survive in the Wild, and how to try to begin to understand why boys show you they fancy you by pulling your hair. The only cooking you'll find in 'The Daring Book for Girls' is cooking over a fire, in the wilderness, while your friends tell you ghost stories to scare you witless!
