One of Prince Imrahil of Dom Amroth’s four children, Lothiriel was sister to Elphir, Erchirion and Amrothos. Imrahil was the Dunedain Prince of Dol Amroth. He had both Dunedain and Elvish blood in him, and was a champion at the Battle of Pelennor Fields. He temporarily took over the White Tower of Gondor when Denethor II died, and fought before the Black Gates of Mordor. His daughter, Lothiriel, married Eomer, the 18th King of Rohan. Eomer fought with Theoden at the Battles of Hornburg and the Pellenor Fields, and Theoden named him his heir shortly before his death. Eomer and Lothiriel had one son, Elfwin the Fair.

Lineage of the House of Eorl
- Helm - 2691-2759 (Helm's Deep was named after him). His sons also died, so his sister's son was made king - thus the second line was established
- Thengel married Morwen of Lossarnach, who Eowyn gets her appearance from.
- children : Theodwyn and Theoden
- Theoden+Elfhild =Theodred (who died in battle ere he ever saw the throne)
- Theodwyn+Eomund= Eowyn and Eomer
- Theodwyn and Eomund both die, so Theoden adopts his sister's children Eowyn and Eomer. They become his own. Since Theoden's own son Theodred died before he got to the throne, Eomer became king.
- Eomer - 2991-3084 (wed Lothiriel) - son : Elfwine
Tolkien’s great passion and focused ambition was to create an entire mythological system for the English people. No one can possibly doubt that he achieved that ambition.
