I wanted to bring you up to date with my very good friend Steve Jones, the writer of the Talismen comics, and his various writing projects. He's currently writing a spec script for a comic book company that caters to the education and Catholic markets. (I'm writing St. Francis Xaveri's bio for my submission script. Golly, he got around!)

He also has a new novella appearing in an anthology called WIZARD ACADEMIES I: HEART OF DARKNESS. The anthology is actually debuting at the London Book Fair! Cool, eh? Meanwhile, he signed an agreement to write a non-fiction book of reviews on Indy comics published between 1982-1996, and he's also writing a YA book for the new Actionopolis line. It's called HENRIETTA HEX, PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR, and she's a lot of fun! Hopefully this will lead to writing a series of HH books.

Is he
making any money off these projects? OF COURSE NOT!!!! Let's be real. :-) But hopefully soon.

Steve
also has two trade paperbacks coming out from Desperado Studios/Image Comics. One compiles four of his H P Lovecraft adaptations, and one compiles his two Sherlock Holmes pastiches. Some of his other old comics work is going to be appearing as web comics on
www.komikwerks.com soon. Steve has also been writing a weekly column on comic book writing for that same site.

Phew! Lots of stuff. Still no money, but I imagine it keeps him busy.

Best of luck with all those projects, Steve. Like most aspring writers, Steve holds down a full-time job as well – it's not easy being a writer!

Submitting to Gateway: Basically, all you need do is e-mail it along and I'll consider it - it can be any length, if it's very long I'll serialise it, if it's medium-length I'll put it in as a novella, if it's a short story or a feature article it will go in as it comes. Payment is zero, I'm afraid, as I don't make any money from Gateway, I do it all for fun!
